Hi Folks,

I just received a letter this morning from Thurlow Nunn saying " Vauxhall Insignia (REG) is due a recall.

Dear Mr. X

As part of our ongoing commitment to customer care we regularly check with the vauxhall database to see if any of our customer vehicles have an outstanding vauxhall recall on a specific maintenance or safety issue. As our personal service to you we have checked your Vauxhall Insignia and found it listed on the Vauxhall database as having an outstanding recall.

This recall work will be carried out completely free of charge, but can only be carried out by a Vauxhall Authorised Repairer so in order for us to carry out this work please contact the service team at your local Thurlow Nunn branch.

Has anybody else here every got a letter like this ?? Could there be something seriously wrong ??

I'd ring them and ask for specifics on what update they want to do and post the info here, as some owners have had problems after their cars were 'updated'. Put update on the search tab and read the various posts

Right. Been to Vauxhall and Yes, it is the Software Update ver. 13-R-025. Apparently there was a recent software update that was released in Jan 2013 which went straight out of the window. This update also messed up a lot of Vauxhall cars.

The new Software Update was released on 24.6.2013 which is the 13-R-025 which seems to be flawless. It is for Insignia 2.0l Petrol or Diesel engines only. It is an important update regarding the engine performance bla bla bla. I got my car booked in for next Thursday ... hope all goes well.

Ps. This update expires on 30.06.2015.

What does expire mean in this sense. Does the car self destruct after that date!!!

Strange that the update is applicable to both petrol and diesels. Are you sure that is what you were told?
They work in totally different ways. How can one update suit both?

I've picked mine up this morning after having the update done. There is also an update for the reservoir noise that some cars are suffering from. This was also done. I'll give it a good thrashing later and see what's improved

Just had my letter through today for the ECM update - 2011 ecoflex, even though I don't have the car now. Guess they are still persevering with it. One of the main reasons I will be switching back to petrol even though it was running fine.
